At John W. Baumgarten, we are nursing home experts. Collectively, our senior staff has over 40 years of skilled nursing design experience.
Over the past 10 years the combined forces of managed care and home/community-based alternatives have led to lower bed census rates. Our firm has helped our clients move in new directions by creating vent units, dialysis centers, outpatient rehabilitation suites and adult day care centers within their nursing facilities.
As part of this work, we have undertaken major modernizations and additions to create fresh public and resident amenity spaces to improve facility marketability and resident quality of life.
In the era of right sizing, we have taken on the added role of strategic master planners helping our clients’ transition to new care models such as the household/neighborhood concept and assisting them in creating a continuum of care through the creation of assisted living programs and other community based care models.
