Regeis Façade
Bronx, New York

- A Bronx Skilled Nursing Facility built in the 1970s wished to improve physical plant energy efficiency and its "first impression". The original façade system consisted of a minimally insulated metal curtain wall that "leaked energy" and gave the building a commercial/institutional look. We proposed and executed the phased replacement of the existing facade cladding with an Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS).
- This metal stud & "synthetic stucco" system provides a warmer more residential appearance while dramatically improving the thermal performance of the building's exterior through the installation of six inches of thermal batt insulation in the wall stud cavity. The complexities of undertaking such a large scale project in an occupied Nursing Facility were managed through our preparation of a carefully constructed phasing plan.
