Queens Center Rehabilitation Wing Addition

• The major planning goals of this project centered around a general refurbishment of this Nursing Home’s materials & finishes along with the creation of more resident amenity space on each floor and the configuration of a state-of-the-art Rehabilitation suite at the ground floor level.
• A one-story, skylit addition at the ground floor served to link formerly loosely connected Rehab spaces into a larger unified therapy area. This larger footprint allowed for the addition of new cutting edge equipment such as a driving simulator. On residential floors, existing exterior balconies were enclosed to "capture" space for the enlargement of existing dining and recreation rooms. A new elevator was added to link each floor’s dining room to the new ground floor therapy suite.
