- This project involved the fit-out of empty second floor shell space into an Adult Day Care program to serve fifty registrants. The challenge here was to overcome an awkward floor plan that is split into two halves because of an hourglass shaped site.
- The solution was to locate administrative and program support spaces within a narrow "bridge" at the center of the floor plan. This allowed for visual supervision of and functional access to the large open program rooms located to either side of this central core.
- Our integrated multi-disciplinary design approach located HVAC ductwork in perimeter wall soffits allowing the "center" of the major program areas to take better advantage of the relatively tall stories by creating greater ceiling heights.
