Central Avenue D&TC
Far Rockaway, New York
- New 14,000 s.f. two story structure fronting on three streets. Project included site engineering (by John W. Baumgarten).
- Program included sub-specialties such as Pediatrics, Dental and Physical Medicine.
- Facade design utilized an assortment of decorative brick, concrete block and precast stone to evoke a sense of permanence and importance within the community.
- Difficult subsurface conditions dictated a complex foundation system of piers and grade beams. Dewatering was also required.
